KUTH Foundation's Medical Care program recently conducted a three-day medical outreach in Abeokuta and surrounding rural communities, providing free healthcare services to over 500 patients.

The outreach team, comprising volunteer doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, offered services including general consultations, eye care, dental care, malaria testing and treatment, blood pressure monitoring, and health education.

"Many of these communities have no access to basic healthcare," explains Dr. Chidi Nwosu, KUTH's Medical Director. "For some patients we saw, this was the first time they had seen a doctor in years."

The outreach also distributed over 1,000 mosquito nets, provided deworming medication for children, and referred 25 patients requiring specialized care to partner hospitals for free treatment.

Funding for the outreach was provided by corporate partners and individual donors, with medical supplies donated by pharmaceutical companies. Total value of services and supplies exceeded ₦15 million.

KUTH plans to conduct quarterly medical outreaches throughout 2026, targeting underserved communities across multiple states. Volunteer healthcare professionals interested in participating can register through our website.
